Nighthawk

Continuing our collaboration with Map Project Office, these films showcase IBM’s latest groundbreaking advances in quantum chip technology. This first transforms the intricate 120-qubit Quantum Nighthawk processor into a compelling visual journey. The narrative focuses on its new square-lattice architecture, converting abstract computational scaling into a tangible visual language.

Guided by their state-of-the-art hardware specifications, our work explores the Nighthawk and Loon processors. Through detailed architectural breakdowns and isometric compositions, we contrast matte dark grey silicon wafers with satin aluminium and iridescent finishes. This treatment reveals the complex levels and sophistication inside each system.

The second film simulates energy pulses travelling through the purple connectors and large wafer, tangibly communicating the Loon’s fault-tolerant architecture. This future-leaning aesthetic brings IBM’s technology to life, creating a persuasive system befitting Map’s timeless industrial design.
