Turn Ideas Into Action

Forward Festival

Building intrigue for an international design event

Aiming to ignite anticipation at Forward Festivals’ opening in Berlin, we set out to create a memorable title sequence that captures their motto, ‘Turn Ideas Into Action’. To actively drive interest and turn the premiere into a shared, highly anticipated moment, we created a narrative around the ‘blank page’, a daunting yet deeply potential-filled space where the creative spark begins.

Driven by the physics of attraction and antagonism, our concept splits the sequence into two distinct halves. We pushed slow-motion behaviours to the limit, building intense anticipation before an activation point releases a burst of pure energy. Moving through a refined palette of soft whites and heavy metals, the resulting chain reaction physically demonstrates ideas colliding and igniting.

This cinematic sequence resonated with the festival’s audiences and set a powerful tone for the days ahead. By visualising the journey from tension to creative momentum, the final film provided a captivating, unifying moment that elevated Forward Festival’s creative presence on the design calendar.

When the sequence premiered in Berlin, what began as a blank page transformed into a collective experience. These moments on stage captured the essence of Forward Festival, setting the tone for the days ahead, sparking ideas, and showing action taking shape in real time.
